Who We Are


A life long resident of Vancouver, WA. Dan is an owner of an Executive Search Firm. A.L. Merryman Company.

Dan is actively involved on several boards throughout the community. He is married and the proud father of two.

He has a B.S. degree in Psychology from Washington State University.


Hector is the founder of Community Roots Collaborative and is a community leader and mainstay for social activism. 

He also founded and directs Stone Soup Community Meal, has received the Ryan Woods Community Award, is the Immediate Past President of the Southwest Washington League of United Latin American Citizens Council 47013 (SW WA LULAC), and is a 16-year member of the Vancouver Farmers’ Market and past board director there. 

He is involved in several more service organizations.


Chris grew up on a small farm in Ohio. He spent 8 years in the Marine Corp and is still active with the reserves. A business owner/supply chain consultant improving local and global processes. He is married and proud father of 4.

He has a B.S. degree in Political Science from Miami Univ. and a M.S. degree in Supply Chain Management from Syracuse Univ.


Peggy has lived in Vancouver for over forty years and is currently working for Prestige Development.  She is very proud to have had a long career in local government. She is actively involved in other organizations including Outsiders Inn and is a proud supporter of Journey Theatre Group.  Peggy is married and has two grown children and three amazing grandchildren.  


Executive leader in the industrial construction industry with 25 years in all aspects of construction, business and marketing.

After graduating from the IBEW apprenticeship program, he has multiple State RMI/RME, Electrical Administrator, Electrical Supervisor, and Engineering licenses.

His greatest success in life has been his two children. 


Xavier Reynolds is a former political fundraiser and 8 year resident of Clark County.

She firmly believes that there is no one-size fits all solution any more than there is only one cause.

She lives in Hazel Dell with her many (many) books and well loved cast-iron cookware.

She has a BS Mathematics degree from Portland State University.

Helga excels in multicultural marketing and  training, team-building, and skill development.

She has three decades of civic engagement, current affiliations include Southwest Washington LULAC Council #47013; South Union CDC and the National Community College Hispanic Council. 

A native of Puerto Rico, she has one daughter, and is  mother-in-law to a 22-year Veteran.

Community Roots Collaborative is a community-centric focused non-profit developer. We depend on our community to help support us. All dollars will go to the cause of helping put permanent roofs over the heads of our community members who are experiencing homelessness.
